This workshop is a hands-on bookmaking experience lasting about 1-1/2 hours. Participants will learn to make a book and bind it using traditional Japanese bookbinding methods.

This workshop is a hands-on bookmaking experience lasting about 1-1/2 hours. Participants will learn to make a book and bind it using traditional Japanese bookbinding methods.

During the workshop participants will put together paper and covers to form a book suitable for a sketchbook or journal using waxed linen thread stitched in a traditional pattern.
This is a fairly simple book that can be completed in an hour or so, giving the participants a finished book to take with them.
Cost is $35 per person which includes all supplies, minimum 6 people, maximum 12.
This 1-1/2 hour class would be held in a place of your choice, within a 50 mile radius of Fitchburg, WI. (Mileage charge for further distances). Your group would be responsible for securing a suitable venue with table space of at least 30” wide for each person enrolled.
As a bookmaker, I have over 20 years of experience, having made artist books in a variety of structures and materials using both traditional and modern bookmaking techniques.
